Exhibiting artist, storyteller, and performer Gina Cornejo will share her “informal formalities” of how to get your writing off the page and in front of an audience walking, talking, and even screaming on stage. How to Build-A-Beast! a workshop for all creatives, including writers, poets, theatrical performers, and filmmakers.
Cornejo will share her own personal artistic process that has assisted her in creating full-blown performances as well as collaborating with stellar local artists in original short films, choreographed performances, live music compilations, and even graffiti murals! You are invited to begin to Build-A-Beast with Cornejo so your writing can breathe on and off the page.

Gina Cornejo has been an Artist in Residence at Revolve Gallery, Story Parlor, and Wortham Center for the Performing Arts, Art House 360 (2024-25), and currently Tooth + Nail Gallery. Their solo performance of original work (“Dirty Laundry”) was chosen for the Asheville Fringe Festival (2023) and they have been featured on Blue Ridge Public Radio (NPR), The Mezzanine Podcast, Dirty Spoon Radio Hour, The Overlook and more to discuss personal artistic development and creative process. Her original writing and poetry was chosen and featured in a live performance for Creative Mornings in Asheville, North Carolina, along the theme of “Corruption.”
