Tassel Making with Janelle Gramling

Come learn Janelle Gramling’s methods for creating sculptural hanging tassels! Play with all of her materials including linen, wool, metal beads, wood beads, and hand-crafted ceramic components. The ceramic parts are pre-made before class for you to assemble with. Snacks and drinks will be provided. At the end of the workshop you will have a unique sculptural tassel for you to take home and enjoy!

This experience is appropriate for all skill levels. Be as ambitious or simple as you would like. Adults as well as children ages 10 and up are welcome.

Janelle Gramling is an interdisciplinary artist who works in mixed media sculpture, performance, photography, writing, curating, teaching, and community building. As a sculptor, she works primarily in fiber, wood, and ceramic and produces a line of her work commercially which she sells through large retailers and independent boutiques and galleries internationally. Gramling was a recipient of the 2020 Mary Nohl Fellowship for Individual Artists. She is the founder and director of Tooth + Nail Studio and Gallery in Milwaukee, WI where she lives with her 3 teenagers.
