This event is specifically for people who are a part of the LGBTQ Community.

In this introduction to leather construction, we will make a wallet, collar, clutch or cardholder using one of 3 stitch patterns. Learn about leather tannage and how to select a hide, how to set rivets and your choice of hardware. Kink friendly, but not focused. All materials and tools are provided. *This workshop will require the use of knives and hand tools. One planned break - bring a snack/bev for yourself.

Shannon Lee Molter uses traditional craft and experimental techniques in leather to construct art, functional goods and push the boundaries of the wearable object. Her work has been seen on runways in the Milwaukee Art Museum, Museum of Wisconsin Art, Portrait Society Gallery and the American Craft Council. Shannon Lee Molter is an artist, freelance curator, lecturer with a focus on textile culture and radical history, an adjunct instructor at Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design in Fashion & Apparel Design, and full time art teacher.
