Tooth + Nail is thrilled to announce Kota Bowen’s debut solo show “Strange Touch.” Opening August 23rd 6-9pm and running through October 4th. 

Kota Bowen is a Milwaukee based artist focusing on ceramic sculpture. This body of ceramic work delves into the complexities of touch and connection, capturing the nuances of this push and pull. Touch can be both welcomed and uncomfortable, a duality they explore through motifs of bodies, hands, teeth, spikes, milk and piss. These elements can embody the slightly uncomfortable. Drawing inspiration from the narrative potency of amphora greek pottery, they aim to provoke contemplation, inviting viewers to question their own perceptions of touch and a deeper understanding of the human experience.
