Come preserve the late summer season with the beautiful yellow from marigold flowers! In this workshop, we will use fresh and dried marigolds on a cotton tea towel and a pair of socks. You will be introduced to the world of natural dyes, discover the process of extracting color, and leave with functional items you can use everyday! Participants will also receive a handout on recreating the dye pot on their own. No previous dye experience is necessary. 

Sarah Eichhorn (she/her) is a fiber artist, educator and caregiver located in Milwaukee, WI.She has a background in all things fiber, from sewing to weaving to knitting.She enjoys gardening and growing her own dye plants.Her making is functional and focuses on sustainability- use the quilts, wash the towels and wear the clothes!When she’s not making, she can be found at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, teaching classes on fashion and fibers.
