Facets
February 7 - March 30, 2025
Facets is a group exhibition showcasing the immense talent of four Wisconsin sculptors. These contemporary artists stand out as masters of material and experimental studio practices. Acting like psychic lightning rods, this collection casts spirituality, nostalgia, creative enlightenment, and self-awareness in metal, clay, wood, paper, and reclaimed materials.
“While curating Facets, I sought out artists making modern day relics. Neither religious nor old, these artworks I found equally and potently symbolic, yet revered for their craftsmanship and, at times, their profound absurdity. This multifaceted way of creating draws in the onlooker with the unconventional uses of material and captivates them with the subjects found within. The works of Caroline Calvano, Pavonis Giron, Brit Krohmer, and Adam Raiford elevate navel gazing-sometimes literally- from self-indulgence to a true exploration of (hu)man + made + material.”
